How to Become a Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador in 2025: A Complete Step-by-Step Guide

If you're keen to become a Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador (MLSA), this guide explains the step-by-step application procedure to become successful.
Requirements for Eligibility
Before you start, make sure you have these requirements:
- Age: You are required to be 16 years of age or older.
- Enrollment: You should be a full-time student in an accredited college or university.
- Individual Application: Applications should be submitted individually, and not in batches.
- Microsoft Affiliation: You are required not to be a Microsoft employee or active contractor.
How to Apply
Step 1: Create and Log In to an Account
Go to the official portal at Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors and sign up. In case you're chosen, you'll be assigned a fresh Microsoft account for the program.
Note: It may be "any account" because, if chosen into the MLSA Program, you will be assigned a new Microsoft Account.
Step 2: Start Your Application
Start your application here: Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador Application Portal
Pay special attention to the Registration Notifications sub-section. It discusses the order post-registration, i.e., opting to join the Microsoft Student Developer Community on Discord. Also, it discusses important points for F-1 visa students and quarterly reporting of application results based on submission schedules.
Step 3: Accept Privacy and Terms
Accept the privacy and terms of the program after reading to continue.
Step 4: Provide Personal Information
Fill in your details, including your programming language of choice.
Tip: You don't have to be familiar with the language you choose. Choose a language you wish to learn or would like to try out. For instance, if you're new to programming but would like to try out Python, you're welcome to use it.

Step 5: Add Your Social Media Profiles
Add your social profiles' links like LinkedIn, Twitter, and GitHub.
Tip: You don't need to have any content on your GitHub page. Just include it, making sure to format the links properly.
Example:
Don't paste the whole URL. Just enter the username (e.g.,linkedin.com/in/username).

Correct Format- Just remember that you don’t have to paste the complete profile link but just complete it as shown below.
Step 6: Academic Information
Provide information about your university. Your status as a full-time student is a strict requirement for the program.
Step 7: List Your Interests
Select the technologies you want to learn about from the dropdown menu (there will be a few options).
Tip: Type in your Microsoft Learn account's Display Name. If you don't have an account yet, no problem — you can sign up via the link given.
Step 8: Review and Submit
Double-check your application is accurate with no errors or omissions, then click Submit.
After Submission
If your application is granted, hurray! You'll be a Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador and embark on an awesome journey.
